First we’d like you to know we truly love what we do. We love the way our products look and feel and smell. We love the way they clean so incredibly well. We love how safe our products are for the people who use them and for the earth we share. And we love the way our customers share our enthusiasm for our unique products. We are truly a company that feels passionately about our business.

And as our founder, I love having this opportunity to share with you the story of our company, how we came to be, and what we value. I hope you’ll find our story so compelling you say, “Now that’s the kind of company I want to do business with”.

The idea that started ChemFree Solutions originated in my other company, Ceramic Enhancement which I started in a Detroit, Michigan suburb about 5 years ago and recently turned over to my son.  They are tile restoration experts, which is another way of saying Professional Cleaners who regularly tackle special problems no one else can solve. One of the problems they frequently encountered was mold and mildew on stone, grout, and concrete. Like most, they tried chlorine bleach, but the crews couldn’t breath because of the toxic fumes, and our customers complained the mold kept returning. There had to be a better way.

Through research, development and testing the answer was found – enzyme-based cleaners that were not only more effective at removing mold, mold didn’t come back again anytime soon. Plus, those toxic fumes were gone. Through continued research, reformulation, and testing we also found enzyme-based cleaners to be the most effective solution to a very wide range of problems other than mold. We learned enzymes truly are a new and better way to clean because they are not only safe, but the most effective cleaner technology we’d ever used.

Not only did our technicians use these cleaners, we began selling them to our customers. Time and time again they not only bought more, they wrote us and called us and thanked us for giving them the best cleaner they’d ever used. Clearly they agreed enzymes really did clean better.

Next we looked to the marketplace and found enzyme cleaners starting to be used for commercial and industrial jobs, including such diverse tasks as cleaning up large oil spills and cleaning surgical instruments before sterilization. For consumers though, there were few real choices.

So, on February 22, 2006, ChemFree Solutions was created to bring safe and effective products to consumers around the country, and perhaps some day around the world. For months we listened to consumers to help us understand their needs and desires, we planned and formulated, we created and evaluated. Then on October 3, 2006, we publicly announced Naturally Clean at the Natural Products Expo in Baltimore, Maryland. Retailers warmly welcomed and honored us by voting Naturally Clean a finalist for Best New Packaging of 2006. Orders flowed onto our desks. Retailers sold out 32 bottle Floor Displays in 4 days. And the beginning of a new company and a better way of cleaning was born.
